Beaufort Kennel
Club ("BKC") was founded in Beaufort, South
Carolina in 1971 by area dog fanciers. BKC became an American
Kennel Club ("AKC") licensed club in 1991. The objectives of the
club are to further the enhancement and interest in purebred dogs,
encourage good sportsmanship, and conduct canine events in
accordance with AKC guidelines. Our kennel club in
Beaufort, South
Carolina, offers dog shows,
plus information on dog breeders and dog trainers. We host
AKC-recognized conformation shows where the dogs are judged
according to standards set for each breed by the American Kennel
Club. In theory, they are competing against the breed standard, not
each other. Dog show competion is an excellent sport for both
